Susan Stearns is the Project Director for the Eastern Academic Scholars' Trust (EAST) - www.eastlibraries.org) shared print program, a collaboration of over 130 academic and research libraries in the eastern United States to preserve and protect scholarly print titles.  EAST was founded as a sponsored program of the Boston Library Consortium (BLC) during Susan's tenure there as Executive Director, a position she retired from in 2020.  
In addition to working with member libraries to analyze their print monograph and journal collections to identify unique, scarcely held, and frequently used materials, EAST supports resource sharing across the membership and works closely with vendors and service providers to advocate for further embedding shared print content into standard library workflows for selection, acquisition, cataloging, discovery, and resource sharing.
Prior to joining the BLC, Susan worked for over 20 years in a variety of strategic planning, marketing, and product management positions for vendors services the public, corporate, and academic library markets worldwide.
She holds an AB from Mount Holyoke College and an MLS from Simmons College.
