Gracemary Smulewitz

Gracemary Smulewitz is the Head of Collection Services and Resource Sharing at Rutgers University Libraries. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Library Science from Rutgers University. Ms. Smulewitz has worked with serials for over 32 years and for the past 17 years has managed all aspects of electronic resources. In October of 2016, inter-library loan activities became part of the Collection Services and Resource Sharing responsibilities. This has allowed for broader analysis and significant contributions to collection development.
Gracemary has presented on topics related to usage analysis; management and change in the workplace and serials management at the Charleston Conference and other conferences. Ms Smulewitz also represents Rutgers to many consortia including NERL, the BTAA Acquisitions committee and Collection Development –Electronic Resource committee. Ms Smulewitz is also a member of the PALCI Collections Advisory Council. During her career she has served on several vendor advisory boards and several committees in ALCTS related to serials.
