I've long been interested in using networked information to advance dissemination and use of the most valuable information resources we share, founding an online journal in 1990, teaching over the Internet in 1994, and later serving as CIO at Penn and Provost at Georgetown.  For me, the Offline Internet Consortium means a lot because of colleagues at ASU who work in this space and the challenges of serving in a public institution in a state whose population embraces 22 nations, many of whose citizens face huge challenges in gaining access to networked information.
