Dave Wiseman has been the Systems Librarian at Roanoke College since 2002. He has worked as a reference librarian in public libraries, a trainer for an ILS vendor, and a systems librarian. He developed the Campus Sustainability (recycling and green energy) program at Roanoke College, and served on his local county planning commission. The CIC Shared Shelf program marks his first foray into digital repositories. Roanoke College has developed or is currently developing video, photograph, text-based, and crowdsourced multimedia digital repositories in partnership with campus constituencies, other libraries and archives, local museums and non-profit organizations in the local community. These projects range from the campus yearbook collection to a detailed, geo-located database of Virginia’s freshwater fish to the LGBTQ history of southwestern Virginia.
