Charla Batey, MBA, is the Communications and Events Officer for the UCI Libraries, where she oversees and directs strategic communications, marketing, public and media relations and special events. She is also member of the Libraries’ External Relations Team, and UCI's Community Relations Collaborative, Events Council, Strategic Communications Council and was a member of UCI’s 50th Anniversary Committee (2014-16). She has worked at the UCI Libraries for two years and in a communications and events function, both in the private and public sectors, for nearly ten years. As a proud UCI Alumna, she holds an undergraduate degree in Journalism from the institution and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from Brandman University, part of the Chapman University System. Her passion for communications, creativity and community guides her professional and personal life activities.
